Transition Year News
Not only were T.Y. students performing in the school Musical last week
but the T.Y. Art students were preparing for perfor-mances of a different kind.
Four Art Students won through in the first school pre-liminary round of the very popular Junk Kouture Fashion Competition that requires entries from recycled material. All the school entries were of an extraordinarily high standard and all the T.Y. Art students and their team of helpers deserve great commendation for their work.
The winning entries were from T.Y. students Emma Hig-gins 4L, Laura O’Connor 4C, Lourdana Maca-ri 4N and Laura Mahon 4L and the girls pro-gressed last week to the regional finals.
This was a very popular competition entry this year in school. Well done also to the 9 T.Y. students and Ms. Devaney who were invit-ed to participate in the Dublin St. Patricks Day Parade as part of the Brighter Future float . There were several rehersals involved in the staging of the event but the girls en-joyed all the preparations and were men-tioned twice in the R.T.E. commentary on the day.
Well done to everyone involved . The girls managed to take time out to see the film The Help in Dun Laoghaire During the Musical week which turned out to be a mem-orable morning! Well done to Fiona Dee-gan and Rebecca Dunne who represented the school at the Le Cheile Catholic Schools Conference in The Citywest Hotel in January. They did themselves and the school proud in their workshops and presentation to the Principals and School Board members along with the other Cheile schools who attended.
